Hi Reader

December has arrived, and it’s been a whirlwind of creativity and adventures here at Rediscover Nova Scotia (Nova Scotia Explored)! From exciting product launches to our fresh new look, there’s so much to share—and just in time for the holidays.

Rebrand & New Structure

Welcome to the New Rediscover Nova Scotia: Playful Adventures!
Over the past several months, I’ve been busy re-imagining how to bring you the best of Nova Scotia in playful and meaningful ways. Whether it’s through adventure challenges, colouring books, Nova Scotia adventure-inspired calendars and cards, or blog travel guides, everything is now easier to explore and shop in one place.

Here’s what’s new:

  • A rebranded website with a focus on interactive adventures.
  • New products to make exploring Nova Scotia even more fun, like mini adventure packs and 2025 calendars.
  • A fresh layout for easier browsing and planning your next local trip!

The old site still has the blogs available for now, and I’m in the process of transitioning them to the new platform. As I bring over those posts, I’ll be adding a fresh twist, blending the old and new adventures to inspire your next journey. Stay tuned for updates as the transition continues!

What I’ve Been Up To

This past month has been full of special moments and Nova Scotia adventures! For my birthday, my mom and I explored the charming town of Bear River—discovering a must-visit winery that goes beyond just wine, even in the off-season. My husband treated me to dinner at the iconic Mic Mac Bar & Grill, which absolutely lived up to its reputation for hearty, delicious pub food.

We also made it to the Acadia Craft Show, where we supported talented local artisans and checked off a few names on our gift list—hope you’ve had a chance to shop local, too! Later, my husband and I celebrated my birthday and our 9th anniversary with a romantic downtown Halifax getaway. We indulged in an incredible meal at Five Fishermen, caught Frozen: The Broadway Musical at Neptune Theatre (unforgettable!), and enjoyed a cozy stay at Hotel Halifax.

To wrap up the month, I had my very own craft show debut at the South Berwick Girl Guides Craft and Vendor Sale—what a success! Your love for my calendars and giftable photo print cards made my day. Finally, we visited Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, where the animals were as curious about us as we were about them, followed by a snow-dusted stop at Courthouse Hill with breathtaking views. Every season in Nova Scotia truly brings something new to enjoy.

Fun Fact: The More You Know Nova Scotia

Did you know? Every year, Nova Scotia sends the City of Boston a Christmas tree to thank them for the help they provided after the Halifax Explosion. This tree is even nominated every year by the public before being selected by a committee and sent to Boston.

The holidays are here, and I’d love to help make them special with gifts, guides, and local tips. Take a peek at the shop and grab your favourites while supplies last!

Until next time,
Wishing you cozy adventures,
Nancy
